Our Board

For New, Apprentice Umpires
(18 and over), and Locals (Less than 5 years experience)
All umpires must complete 6 hours of classroom training.  You may complete Part I at one location and Part II at a different location, but you must complete both parts.  Written exam will be take home for New and Apprentice umpires; Locals will take the exam at the end of Part II.  All Local umpires must either be rated (if it is a renewal year) or give service by rating others at one of the two on-field locations.

For New Junior Umpires
(Ages 15-17, or adults wanting to umpire only Junior Lacrosse)

All junior umpires and umpire candidates must attend Parts I and II of the umpire classroom training, and take the exam.  All umpires must also have on-field training, which will consist of umpiring games during some portion of March 14 or 15.  Umpires will request a two-hour time slot on one of these two days and that request will be accommodated to the extent possible.

National, District, and Local Umpires with 5+ years experience

All National, District and Invited Local umpires must attend this umpire clinic to hear new rules interpretations for this year, and take the exam.  All will be expected to attend at least part of the collegiate-level playday on Sunday, February 1, 2009, as pre-season warm-up and/or training on 3-man system.
